Sexual Dysfunction is any physical or psychological problem that prevents you or your
partner from getting sexual satisfaction. Male sexual dysfunction is a common
health problem affecting men of all ages but is more common with increasing
age. Treatment can often help men suffering from sexual dysfunction.
Some sexual
dysfunction in male are:
Erectile Dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction is the
inability to attain or sustain an erection satisfactory for sexual intercourse.
Most erectile dysfunction is related to vascular, neurologic, psychological,
and hormonal disorders; drug use can also be a cause. Evaluation typically
includes screening for underlying disorders and measuring testosterone levels.
Treatment options include oral phosphodiesterase inhibitors, intraurethral or
intracavernosal prostaglandins, vacuum erection devices, and surgical implants.
Erectile dysfunction (ED)
means that you cannot get a proper erection. Most cases are due to narrowing of
the arteries that take blood to the penis. This is due to a build-up of fatty
deposits (atheroma) in these arteries in the same way that heart arteries are
affected in people with heart disease. ED is usually treatable, most commonly
by a tablet taken before sex.
Erectile Dysfunction also
known as ED or impotence, is the inability to attain or maintain an erection of
the penis adequate for the sexual satisfaction of both partners. It can be
devastating to the self-esteem of a man and of his partner. As many as 30
million American men are afflicted on a continuing basis, and transient
episodes affect nearly all adult males. But nearly all men who seek treatment
find some measure of relief.
Premature Ejaculation
Premature Ejaculation is the release of semen
from the penis at orgasm (sexual climax). When a man is sexually stimulated,
the brain sends signals to the genital area through nerves in the spinal cord
to make the pelvic muscles contract.
Premature Ejaculation is the
term used when a man comes (ejaculates) more quickly than he and/or his partner
would like. It means you ejaculate very soon after putting your penis inside
(penetrating) your partner, or even before penetration. It is not really known
what causes premature ejaculation. Men with premature ejaculation should not be
embarrassed about discussing it with their doctor, as it can be helped by a
variety of means. There are tablets which may be helpful, either taken
regularly or as needed. Creams or sprays that numb the penis may also be used.
There is no set time when a man should ejaculate during sex.
But it’s probably too soon if you have an orgasm before intercourse or less
than a minute after you start. It’s a problem because when you ejaculate you
lose your erection and can’t continue having sex. You and your partner may feel
there’s not enough time to enjoy it.
Low libido (reduced interest in sex)
